Diddy: I was just joking about changing my name to 'Brother Love'

WWE's 'Brother Love' I Got My Nickname Back ... But I'll Still Whoop Diddy's Ass!!

Sean Combs caught major heat from WWE fans after he "changed" his nickname "Diddy" to "Brother Love", a veteran WWE legend but the rapper said he was "only joking".

Diddy posted the video below on Instagram claiming that he was only kidding when it comes to the name change. It would be nice if he just picked one name. Just because you chose to change your name for the umpteenth time that's not "some very serious, serious news". But if you still wanna call me Love, you can call me Love, baby.

Diddy or is it Love, I don't know, tweeted out he had "some very serious, serious news".

Sean Combs, formerly known as "Puff Daddy, Puffy, P-Diddy", and most recently, "Diddy", told his Twitter followers Saturday that he made a decision to change his name to "Love".

"Well, ladies and gentlemen, today I've come to the conclusion that you can not play around with the Internet", he said into the camera as he walked down a garden path and sat down. "I'm something different. So my new name is Love, a.k.a. Brother Love", he says in the clip.

Target Stores will close for six hours on Black Friday

Although name changes are common among hip hop celebrities, his announcement has had fans talking for the last two days.

Furthermore, Diddy stated people could call him Love if they want but he "was only playing".

I think we've all learned a valuable lesson today, which is that you can not play around with Love.

"I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy, or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love", Combs continued, listing off the various other names he has gone by over the years.
