Ride Manufacturer Reveals The Cause Of Deadly Ohio State Fair Accident

Ohio State Fair ride malfunction

"Excessive corrosion" is to blame after an Ohio State Fair ride broke apart July 26, killing one person and injuring seven others, an investigation by the ride manufacturer showed.

"This finally led to the catastrophic failure of the ride during operation", Kroon said, noting that it eventually resulted in the passenger-carrying gondola to detach from the supporting sweep arm of the ride.

Tyler Jarrell, 18, was killed when the vehicle of an amusement park ride detached and flew through the air at the Ohio State Fair on July 26.

The ride's manufacturer, KMG, announced investigation results Sunday, almost two weeks after the accident.

Kroon, the product manager, wrote that KMG has collaborated with industry safety experts to "develop an inspection protocol" in order to prevent future incidents from occurring. The company also conducted a metallurgical inspection of the ride.

The Spurs boss conceded the ex-Burnley right-back was anxious at half time, but far more relaxed come the end of the game. Ben Davies knows how it feels to be down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino .

State officials said the Fire Ball had been inspected just hours before the crash.

Four others remained hospitalized last week, including an 18-year-old woman in a coma, and Jarrell's 18-year-old girlfriend.

The company had ordered fair and carnival operators throughout the country to stop using the Fire Ball ride and others like it following the accident at the Ohio State Fair.

The ride, the Fireball, had been on the circuit for 18 years when the accident happened that killed an 18-year-old.

Jarrell had recently enlisted in the U.S. Marines and was scheduled to begin basic training next year. Sunday was the fair's last day. Jarrell's family has hired an attorney to possibly pursue a wrongful death lawsuit.
