Ravens Deny Owner is Blocking Colin Kaepernick Signing

Ray Lewis To Colin Kaepernick:

Many have attributed his unemployment to his decision to kneel for the national anthem ahead of games last season.

The Ravens released a statement refuting the accuracy of the report. I'll frame that this way: "there are other positions that we're looking at too and I don't have any updates on those either".

Contrary to an ESPN report, owner Steve Bisciotti isn't stopping the Ravens from signing free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

"We're very sensitive to it, and we're monitoring it and we're still, as (general manager Ozzie Newsome) says, we're scrimmaging it", Bisciotti said at a fan forum with National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell at M&T Bank Stadium.

Bisciotti would not be the first owner to worry how signing Kaepernick would affect the team's fanbase. "Whoever is making these claims is wrong".

UCF football player kicked off team for making money off YouTube videos
De La Haye has produced and starred in dozens of his own videos, some of which have garnered hundreds of thousands of views. UCF removed him from the team to ensure they didn't face any penalties for holding an ineligible player on the roster.

In a video posted to his Twitter account, the former Baltimore Ravens linebacker suggested that the free agent quarterback may be better off if he keeps his social activism quiet. By Saturday, Silver reported that Kaepernick would absolutely love to play for the Ravens, a prospect Harbaugh said remained a possibility at some point in the future. We're very sensitive to it, and we're monitoring it, and we're trying to figure out what's the right tact. It wasn't one or two letters.

Bisciotti said Sunday the Ravens were still weighing a decision on Kaepernick, whose arrival would be helpful with Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco sidelined for at least a week of training camp with a back injury.

"The football field is our sanctuary", Lewis said.

Harbaugh's brother Jim was Kaepernick's coach in San Francisco for four years.

Lewis did mention on several occasions he supports Kaepernick's cause and admires the QB for fighting for what he believes in: "And once again, I applaud what you stood up for, because I'm in the streets every day".
