Moto Z2 Force Edition, Moto 360 Camera Mod go official

T-Mobile Moto Z2 Force BOGO offer is live already

So, yesterday, Motorola revealed its 2017 flagship - the Moto Z2 Force Edition. Ditching the headphone jack seems to be a growing trend among smartphone makers ever since Apple released its iPhone 7 without a 3.5mm jack, but not all consumers are happy about this. The battery life, however, is just as everyone feared. Motorola has retained the ultra-slim design that everyone loved of the Moto Z and married it to the shatterproof screen of the Moto Z Force.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.5-inch QHD ShatterShield POLED display with a 1440x2560 pixels resolution.

Motorola's gen-next "Force" device retains all that made it special past year, and brings forward many improvements to the hardware. On the rear end, the smartphone sports two 12-megapixel camera sensors with enhanced depth of field. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the device but users can make use of the USB Type-C port with an adaptor for connecting wired headphones. The phone has connectivity options like NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac with MIMO. This is a result of Motorola's promise that "atleast" three generations of Moto Z phones will be cross compatible with Moto Mods. Plus, the phone can be enhanced further with Moto Mods.

There's 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage that comes with microSD card expansion supporting cards of up to 2 TB.

Motorola announced the Moto Z2 Force Edition in a launch event in NY and will make it available from August 10 in the US.

CamerasAnother major distinction between the Moto Z2 Play and Z2 Force is the main camera. The release date in India has not been specified and it is likely that the phone may not launch in India at all as the company stayed away from the Force variant a year ago. It will roll out in Mexico, Brazil, various European countries, the Middle East, and Africa later this summer.

Coming to the new Moto 360 Camera, the accessory goes for $299 (approx Rs 19330) and will hit shops globally on August 10.

In the camera segment, you get a 12MP dual rear camera setup (RGB + Monochrome) and 5MP front camera. As of now Moto has not announced global availability of the device.
