Whistleblower To Dems: Flynn Promised Biz Associate He'd Gut Russia Sanctions

Whistleblower: At inauguration, Flynn texted on nuclear plan

According to The New York Times, House Oversight Committee ranking Democrat Elijah Cummings wrote to committee chair Trey Gowdy that "within minutes of Donald Trump being sworn in as President", Flynn was "communicating directly with his former business colleagues about their plan to work with Russian Federation to build nuclear reactors in the Middle East".

According to the whistleblower account, Copson said the inauguration was "the best day of my life" owing to progress on the nuclear deal, which was now 'going to make a lot of very wealthy people.

Flynn attempted to "manipulate the course of worldwide nuclear policy for the financial gain of his business partners", and assured a business partner the United States would relax sanctions once he worked in Trump's White House, Cummings wrote to House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina.

Cummings, in a letter to Trey Gowdy, the Republican chairman of the Oversight Committee, detailed the whistleblower's allegations and called on the committee to subpoena Flynn to testify.

The whistle-blower contacted Cummings' office in June, and gave the congressman permission to share his account as part of the committee's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Flynn's lawyer did not respond to a request for comment on the latest claims.

The whistleblower, who provided his account to Cummings in June, said he was with Alex Copson, managing partner of ACU Strategic Partners, a key Flynn ally on the nuclear project, on January 20, Inauguration Day.

Flynn, who pleaded guilty last week to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was communicating with former business associates "within minutes" of Trump's inauguration, according to the letter - reassuring them Russian investments would soon be available as the Trump administration lifted sanctions.

Who will take the lead in House of Cards' final season?
On Nov. 26, Media Rights Capital announced that it had extended its production hiatus for another two weeks until December 8. Production on the House of Cards set had been shut down ever since, as Media Rights Capital investigated the situation.

Copson is the managing partner of ACU, a company that had funded a 2015 trip Flynn took the Middle East that he failed to disclose on security clearance forms.

The company did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

"Mike has been putting everything in place for us".

According to a whistleblower who contacted the lawmaker, the businessman said Flynn had told him that sanctions on Russian Federation would be "ripped up" as a priority in the new Trump government to help the nuclear scheme go ahead. He was ousted as national security advisor after only 24 days on the job.

The letter says Flynn blamed Obama for having 'f***** everything up in my nuclear deal with the sanctions'. Cummings said his office could not verify the whistleblower's story, and whether Copson was telling the whistleblower the truth, without subpoenaed documents.

Mr Cummings said the source was "authentic, credible, and reliable", and offered to introduce the individual to Mr Gowdy.

Flynn was involved in the Middle Eastern nuclear project from spring 2015 to the end of 2016, according to recent financial disclosure filings, a period that overlapped with his role as a prominent adviser to Trump's campaign and transition.
