Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in mid-November that he believes the women accusing Moore, and that the candidate should step down and let another Republican enter the race.

The Republican National Committee followed in President Donald Trump's footsteps on Monday after he endorsed Roy Moore, reversing its previous decision to cut financial ties with the Republican Alabama Senate candidate following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

"The RNC is the political arm of the president and we support the President", a senior RNC official said, CNN reported.

Heavy Rain, Temperature Drop, Wintry Mix and Snow Expected This Week
However, there are two big caveats to keep in mind about the cold air about to invade the East Coast, so don't panic quite yet. If nothing else, much-needed rainfall is expected Tuesday night and early Wednesday with the passage of the cold front.

The Washington Post's original report quoted four different women by name who claimed they were assaulted by Moore, including one who was 14 years old when the assault happened. "We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more", Trump tweeted in support of a candidate the Republican National Committee pulled its funding from. "No to Jones, a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet!"

But on Monday, Trump gave his unequivocal support for Moore, who is running against Democrat Doug Jones. On Monday, Trump called the GOP Senate candidate and offered his endorsement. "I look forward to fighting alongside the President to #MAGA!"

The poll was conducted from Dec. 1 to Dec. 3 among 1,276 voters likely to vote in the Dec. 12 election.

A recent CBS poll showed Moore ahead of his Democratic opponent Doug Jones by six percent.
