IOS 11.1.1 Jailbreak Will Take Longer to Release

The Verge

As explained by iMore and software engineer Yoshimasa Niwa, the bug appears to cause iOS 11's local notifications service to consume massive amounts of memory, crashing "springboard, the iPhone and iPad windowing manager". Updates usually bring their own problems and it looks like the latest version of the OS has brought a very peculiar one to the iPhone X.

If you have an App Store app installed that sends local notifications, once you hit December 2, 2017 local time, your iPhone could begin to crash. If your iPhone isn't crashing yet, update to iOS 11.2 now to avoid this 12/2 notification bug altogether. "Please DM us the iOS version that's now installed on your iPhone and we'll go from there".

Depending upon how many apps you have on your iPhone it might be worthwhile to just disable those and see if it helps. Your issue may be unrelated to this specific iOS bug that first surfaced on December 2. For both the iPhone X and the iPhone 8, Apple now allows for 7.5W wireless charging, which will allow you to speed up the wireless charging speeds of your iPhone, as long as your wireless charger is also capable of supplying the required power. It was noted that folks on the iOS 11.2 beta didn't have the issue and Apple rushed it out to the masses because of that. The hallmark feature for US users is Apple Pay for iMessage, but that service reportedly won't go live until at least Monday.

Releasing iOS 11.2 on a Friday night is a bit odd, but that might be because some iPhones keep rebooting themselves because of a time bug.

Fortnite steals Battlegrounds' thunder in October with more players
Now that Tencent is publishing both a PC and mobile port of the game in China, PUBG publisher Bluehole is incredibly busy. There are still plenty of things wrong with the game and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is starting to play the price.

A bug in iOS 11 caused some iPhones to crash early Saturday as the calendar changed to December 2. What the significance of that date is is unknown but it did cause a lot of frustration and the only solutions seemed to be to either set your date back or disable notifications. A few other tidbits are also included in this update.

After the update installs, turn on the notifications you turned off.
