China's Xi fetes Trump on first day of Beijing trip

Donald Trump in China for talks on North Korea and trade

USA and European trade officials have complained for years that despite China's promises of opening, their companies face an imbalance in tariffs for market entry, intellectual property theft, forced technology transfers and targeted rules that make doing business in China unfair compared with the access Chinese companies have overseas.

The ceremony on Trump's arrival at Beijing's airport on Wednesday was also more elaborate than usual, with the Trumps met by a marching band and soldiers standing at attention.

"We're having a great time", Trump told reporters.

But during a speech in South Korea on Tuesday before setting out for Beijing, Trump urged "responsible" nations around the world to end their support of President Kim Jong Un's menacing regime.

He urged the countries to fully enforce sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council and even put an end to all business and trade dealings, saying "it is unacceptable that nations would help to arm and finance this increasingly unsafe regime".

"That's something!" Trump said after the show, as he and Xi walked away.

Foreigners are generally still able to tweet via their cellphones, and Trump is expected to continue his daily dose of high-octane missives over the three-day state visit, but it's what he might chose not to say that could send a more subtle but equally important message.

"How President Trump communicates with the outside is not something you need to worry about", he said. "But he really has been very, very helpful".

Most unaware of link between alcohol, cancer
Drinking alcohol has always been associated with various health hazards including development of cancers in the body. As of 2009, excessive alcohol consumption was attributed to almost 3.5 percent of all cancer-related deaths.

North Korea says its weapons program is a deterrent against any attempted USA attack to try to topple the regime.

"Trump tweeting from within the Great Firewall will "help to raise awareness of censorship and circumvention", Smith said - and help the U.S. president raise his profile in the world's most populous nation".

They found one such channel in his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who helped arrange an April summit between Xi and Trump at Trump's Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida.

Analysts say there is a perception in China that ensuring a good personal rapport between the two leaders would be key to resolving structural impediments. The state news agency also noted that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the former U.S. President Richard Nixon's "ice-breaking" 1972 visit that turned the tide of Sino-U.S. ties. Russian Federation will "never recognise North Korea" as a nuclear state, which puts Moscow and Washington in "close" positions, Ulyanov said. Trump has praised China for taking some steps against Pyongyang, but he wants them to do more. "There is still some financial links that exist that should not under those resolutions".

"If we get China, if we get Russian Federation. we think that things will happen and they could happen very quickly", Trump added.

It was the start of what China's ambassador to the USA calls a "state visit plus" - a highly choreographed blend of stagecraft and statecraft, created to highlight the evolving chemistry between Presidents Trump and Xi Jinping.

US and Chinese companies on Wednesday signed business deals the two sides valued at $9 billion during a visit by President Donald Trump in a tradition aimed at blunting criticism of Beijing's trade practices.

Weibo users mostly sounded lukewarm about Trump's upcoming visit: One posted a chart showing heavy pollution levels in Beijing and asked if Trump would regret leaving the Paris climate pact.
