Rafael Nadal withdraws from Paris Masters with a knee injury

Rafael Nadal

Nadal will next face Pablo Cuevas in the last 16 on Thursday, after the unseeded Uruguayan edged out Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-7 (5/7), 7-6 (7/1), 6-2.

He did not say if he would be fit for the Tour Finals in London later this month.

"It was an fantastic year, just unbelievable", said Nadal according to the ATP.

"But his losses since then have only been [Juan Martin] Del Potro, Nadal twice and a tough one in Paris to [John] Isner where he held match points".

Nadal bounced back from wrist problems past year to win his 15th and 16th Grand Slam titles at the French Open and US Open. The 31-year-old battled wrist problems in 2014 that caused him to miss the U.S. Open, and he ended his season prematurely in October that year to undergo appendix surgery. I had treatment to try and be able to play on this Friday.

OnePlus 5T leak shows almost edge-to-edge screen
Other specs remain unchanged, including a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB and 8GB RAM for 64GB and 128GB storage respectively. The OnePlus 5T is rumored to arrive this fall, following up on the OnePlus 5, which was released this past June.

Nadal's top ranking comes after his main rival, Swiss Roger Federer, pulled out of this year's last Masters event, reports Efe news agency.

Building on his resurgent competition success this year, Nadal approached attaining the No. 1 ranking with his customary fearlessness, prioritizing the Asian post-grand slam season, a time where he's generally been less successful. "For me it's about the longer term", said Nadal, after withdrawing from the Paris Masters. "It's not the thing that I love to do".

"I can not talk about London now", he added.

Fans will have to wait and see, for now, if Rafa Nadal will be gunning for a first-ever ATP Finals title over taking the time to let his knee heal and focus on the long-term.

The player didn't confirm his participation in the ATP Finals next week, a title that has eluded him so far.
