Nose of plane carrying Oklahoma City Thunder dented on flight to Chicago

New Zealand's Steven Adams has found some solid scoring form for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA

The damage is usually caused by lightning or hailstones but Delta Airlines have revealed that it was a bird that managed to wreck the plane.

But as the National Basketball Association players deplaned after landing in Chicago early Saturday after a bumpy flight to Midway, they took to social media demanding answers to an entirely different question. The team landed safely at Chicago's Midway Airport after 1:00 a.m.

A Delta Air Lines spokesman tells ESPN the plane "likely encountered a bird" - a nice little euphemism that probably isn't giving that bird's family any comfort this morning - while a team official says the flight was just "a little rough", but not too bad.

A Thunder spokesperson said early Saturday that all players, staff and coaches were safe and en route to their hotel.

They sent Rosa Maria with a cousin to the hospital because the cousin is a USA citizen and could pass through the checkpoint. But attempts to have Rosa Maria released to her cousin or to her grandfather, a legal resident of 45 years, have failed.

Thankfully, as Anthony mentioned in his post, everyone is OK, and the team has safely arrived in Chicago. The aircraft, a Boeing 757-200, landed without incident and customers deplaned normally.

Thunder center Steven Adams also posted an image of the plane on Twitter, asking NASA, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye what might have caused the dent. "Safety is Delta's top priority".

"What possibly could we have hit in the SKY at this time of night?", Anthony said.

The Thunder were travelling to Chicago to face the Bulls later Saturday following a 119-116 loss to Minnesota on Friday.
