Colin Kaepernick ready to battle National Football League owners, files grievance

Colin Kaepernick has filed a grievance against NFL owners for collusion

"Protecting all athletes from such collusive conduct is what compelled Mr. Kaepernick to file his grievance", Geragos said. The fact that many teams with a need for a quarterback have passed up the chance to sign Kaepernick left many to believe owners are either punishing him for his stance or believe his presence would alienate fans. It accuses all 32 teams of colluding to keep him out of the league.

Instead of filing the grievance through the NFL Players Association, Kaepernick has hired attorney Mark Geragos, who has represented several high-profile clients, including Michael Jackson, former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield and musician Chris Brown.

The still-unemployed quarterback has filed a grievance against National Football League owners for collusion under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, according to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report.

In August of past year, Kaepernick said he refused to stand for the national anthem because of racial inequality that exists in the U.S. "Good quarterbacks often never even reach free agency, let alone remain unsigned for so long", Five Thirty Eight noted in August.

Kaepernick led the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2012 and has been one of the league's more unsafe dual-threat quarterbacks at times.

India keep an edge, lead 3-1 against Pakistan
India, who had not created a proper goal-scoring chance in the first quarter, got the lead in the 17th minute. The first quarter started evenly as both sides looked threatening on the attack looking to clinch the opener.

Despite the uprising he caused, National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell denied in June that Kaepernick had been blackballed by owners.

However, as Deadspin reports, the NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement describes a "burden of proof" for collusion that goes beyond simply evaluating a player's talent. Perhaps he has an email, text, social media message, video, audio recording, hand-written note or sworn testimony from a witness.

The ramifications would be enormous, and historical.

"Such a precedent threatens all patriotic Americans and hearkens back to our darkest days as a nation". Not signing such a disruptive, toxic player is a no brainer and owners didn't have to conspire to realize individually the damage that would be done to their brand if Kaepernick was on their team.
