Hurricane Ophelia Moving At Snail's Pace To Northeast

Hurricane Ophelia is now raging at 90mph over the northeastern Atlantic and could strengthen further over the next couple of days, according to the NHC. That would keep the center of the storm south of most of the Azores, but close enough that a tropical storm watch or warning might be issued later today. It is much less likely to make landfall than storms in September, however. Hurricane Season does not officially end until November 30th.

Such a record streak hasn't happened since 1893.

Met Office forecaster Alex Burkhill said: "Ophelia became a hurricane overnight and the forecast track takes it eastwards towards Iberia for the weekend".

Hurricane Ophelia is moving slowly in the middle of seemingly nowhere, according to the 5 a.m. advisory Thursday from the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

CPI rises 3.28% in September; August IIP jumps 4.3%
The cumulative growth for the period April-August 2017 over the corresponding period of the previous year stands at 2.2 percent. The IIP growth in July was revised to 0.94% from 1.2% in the provisional estimates released last month.

She then moves further northeast then north off the coast of Portugal and Spain.

The NOAA's National Hurricane Center (NHC) has warned that the storm will batter Ireland and the United Kingdom with torrential rain and powerful gusts.

Met Éireann, the Irish Meteorological Service, says Ophelia "has the potential to be a high-impact event in parts of the country", listing strong winds, heavy rain, and high seas as likely impacts.

"But then it will continue its way towards the British Isles, probably reaching us very early next week". The post-tropical remnants of Hurricane Gordon moved over Ireland and Northern Ireland in 2006 with winds of 65 miles per hour, leaving more than 120,000 people without power.
