Trump criticizes GOP senator in Sunday morning Twitter volley

President Trump hits Twitter to criticize Tennessee Senator Bob Corker

A person familiar with Trump and Corker's recent conversations disputed each of the claims the president made in his tweets.

Bob Corker says President Donald Trump called the Tennessee Republican last week and asked him to reconsider his decision not to run for re-election in 2018. Trump said in reference to Corker seeking the secretary of state post. Last week, Corker lashed out at Trump, saying that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis "help separate our country from chaos ..." He controls the Senate process around confirming Trump's diplomatic nominees, is key to passing pass tax reform or redoing the Obama administration's nuclear deal with Iran, and could make confirming a replacement for Tillerson much more hard.

"Hence, I would fully expect Corker to be a negative voice and stand in the way of our great agenda".

Corker, of Tennessee, was quick to respond with a tweet of his own.

He wrote on Twitter, "An adult day care center whose chief resident can't count to 51..." "Someone obviously missed their shift this morning", suggesting that presidential caretakers were not doing their job. He recently said that only the presence of the generals in Trump's inner circle had kept the White House from descending into "chaos".

Corker said Trump has yet to demonstrate "the stability nor some of the competence" needed to be successful.

Mr Corker hit back that the White House had become an "adult day care centre". A comment that Trump said was "strange".

Las Vegas Gunman May Have Eyed Lollapalooza as Target
A law enforcement official says Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock booked a room at Chicago's downtown Blackstone Hotel in August. The Chicago Police Department said in a statement that it was aware of the TMZ report about the Blackstone booking.

"Thin-skinned, vindictive - all of those things that we saw during the campaign that for whatever reason the conservative movement chose to embrace, enable, or rationalize - now we are seeing it playing out in the White House", he continued.

In August, Trump said Corker was "constantly asking me whether or not he should run again in '18".

But the Obama administration negotiated the global agreement, and Corker tried to require that President Barack Obama submit it to Congress for approval.

Here's how Trump led off the morning against Corker, who's already announced he won't run for reelection in 2018.

By now you are all likely aware that President Trump likes to attack his political foes on Twitter.

Corker's Senate seat is favored to remain in Republican hands.
