Price Visited Family Members, Longtime Friends On Private Jet Trips

U.S. President Donald Trump offered a non-committal answer when questioned whether he'd fire his Health and Human Services secretary

Reps. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., Ted Lieu, D-Calif., Brenda Lawrence, D-Mich., Jamie Raskin, D-Md., and Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., sent a letter to Price Wednesday urging him to "do the right thing" and tender his resignation.

"At a minimum, the American people expect cabinet secretaries to lead with integrity, accept accountability, and use public resources responsibly", they wrote.

On Friday, the HHS inspector general said it "is conducting a review of Secretary Price's government travel using chartered aircraft".

The committee is requesting the documents be submitted no later than October 10, according to the letter.

The letter reminded Price and other recipients that official travel for all federal employees must be "by the most expeditious means of transportation practicable", and be in line with an employee's function.

"I will tell you personally, I'm not happy about it", the President told reporters as he left the White House on Wednesday afternoon for a speech on tax reform.

Guardiola: Man City Not Carried Away By Early Season Form
But Uefa decided that there was a rather decent team that could be put together with them if they were in their prime as a player. Manchester City have not lost a home game in the Champions League since September 2015, winning 6 and drawing 3 in that time .

If ObamaCare repeal is dead for now, despite Trump's protests to the contrary, this would be a fine time for him to shed himself of Price's embarrassing private-jet shenanigans. He wrote to Price last week requesting documents related to Price's flights. The flights cost taxpayers a reported $300,000.

A department official said both trips were paid for by HHS and that Price took both on official government business.

A Politico report last night said that Price took "two taxpayer-funded flights on private jets in which Price traveled to places where he owns property, and paired official visits with meetings with longtime colleagues and family members". White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday at her daily press briefing that Price's travel was not approved by the White House, and was instead improve through HHS.

According to a former Obama administration official who is in close touch multiple Health and Human Services officials in the building, there has been growing frustration with each new report of Price's private charter plane use.

Such flights are typically not allowed if there are cheaper commercial options, which Politico said there were for Price's flights. After speaking at an event with Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in Tennessee, the Mnuchins toured Fort Knox and later watched the solar eclipse after traveling on government planes. Her lone chartered flight, she said, was in a propeller plane that took her to three villages that could not be accessed by road or commercial planes.

"I'm not happy about it", the President said when asked about Price, though Mr. Trump has made his anger known about other top officials in his administration - like Attorney General Jeff Sessions - but not forced them out of a job.
