Trump on Obamacare Repeal Effort: 'That's the End of That'

Senator Bill Cassidy has co-sponsored the latest plan to repeal Obamacare

In principle, Holtz-Eakin said he agrees with the bill's authors, Graham of SC and Cassidy of Louisiana, that federal health care spending is unsustainable and that the Obama-era law gives government too much control. Leaders are also closely watching Alaska Sen.

In a written statement provided by aides, Johnson said funding formulas to correct "the grossly unfair" distribution of money under Obama's law needed to be changed "to reflect the unique circumstances of many states, including recognizing the innovative reforms of Wisconsin".

That handful of states includes Alaska and ME - home to two Senate GOP skeptics of their party's health care crusade. Republican Sen. Susan Collins of ME has said she can't imagine a scenario where she would vote for it.

Senate Republicans next week face the hard choice of whether to vote for an ACA overhaul bill being rushed to the floor. Ted Cruz have said through aides that they oppose the latest version of the bill. Susan Collins of ME seems a near-certain opponent while Alaska's Lisa Murkowski is still undecided.

The bill takes most Obamacare funding and turns it over to states to develop their own plans.

The proposed bill's restructuring of Medicaid financing into block grants would be to the detriment of state public payer programs, the group claimed. "So we're going to lose two or three votes, and that's the end of that".

Sydney Airport grounds flights until further notice
Jan Ibbottson is on holidays from the United Kingdom and said it was frustrating her flight to the Gold Coast was cancelled. Dozens of flights were cancelled while many more were experiencing delays of more than two hours, reports the ABC News.

"You can call it what you want, but that's the only reason we don't have it, because of John McCain", Trump said on the "Rick and Bubba" radio show, which is based in Alabama and airs across the South, according to The Washington Post.

Trump said that odd would be the better candidate in the general election against the Democrat, former US attorney Doug Jones, although the president admitted that "I don't know that much about Roy Moore". After Sept. 30, the Senate would be pursuing Obamacare repeal through regular order, which would provide a few significant obstacles for the small 52 seat Republican-held majority, like Democratic filibusters and a 60 "yes" vote threshold. The bill would also make major changes to traditional Medicaid, capping the federal government's contribution.

"The latest version of the Graham-Cassidy repeal legislation uses phony numbers in an obvious and irresponsible attempt to buy votes for its passage". "But Republicans campaigned on this so often that you have a responsibility to carry out what you said in the campaign".

"Now when it matters because you have a president who's actually going to sign it, they don't do it", Trump said.

Trump responded Saturday morning, charging that the Arizona Republican "never had any intention" of voting for the legislation championed by Sens.
