Kevin Barry on Joseph Parker's performance: It's a pretty damn good win

Hughie eager to unleash his fury in fight for glory

The fight between Hughie Fury and Joseph Parker was scheduled to be the highlight of the night on September 23 at the Manchester Arena as the duo faced off for the WBO heavyweight title.

Promoter Mick Hennessy, alongside Tyson at ringside, blasted the reverse as a travesty in the aftermath as Hughie went down to a first career defeat.

After the decision was announced, a visibly-livid Tyson Fury could be seen screaming at British Boxing Board of Control boss Robert Smith in the ring.

The 25-year-old Parker has mixed in marginally better company but hardly enthralled in either of his previous two title bouts against Andy Ruiz Jr, from whom he won the title, and Romanian Razvan Cojanu in May. Fury started the session with a right, but Parker soon scored with a big shot of his own.

"We just came halfway across the world to Manchester and fought an undefeated fighter who was 20-0, who was the world amateur champion, a fighter that other people do not want to fight and we fought him in his back yard", Barry said.

But when one judge had it a draw and two judges thought it was a wipeout, it's impossible to know where to begin or where it might possibly end. The WBO heavyweight title was so close that he could nearly touch it but instead Fury, 23, touched Parker with the jab and touched Parker with the right hand.

Detroit Lions vs. Atlanta Falcons at Ford Field
It appears Trump's rhetoric has created a backlash and we'll be seeing more demonstrations throughout the NFL . Stafford fired the ball into Golden Tate's hands to score what seemed to be the game-winning touchdown.

"I thought it was an absolute masterclass, shades of Ali - Parker wasn't even in the fight", Hennessy told BBC Radio.

It was not the declaration of intent he wanted to send to his fellow heavyweight world titleholders, but Joseph Parker felt he did enough to deserve the majority decision over Hughie Fury on Saturday.

"Hughie has had a very bad decision".

A lot of the rounds were close, with few clean and powerful punches landed, but it was Fury's movement and flicking jab that gave the champion problems in the first six rounds especially.

Parker will now fancy himself as a contender to Joshua - the IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight champion. Numerous rounds were close and hard to score, and Parker increased his urgency late on, perhaps fearing he was losing the fight.

That aggression saw him through to victory.
