Rafa Benitez focused on keeping up momentum after third successive Newcastle win

Jamaal Lascelles got the Newcastle match-winner at Swansea scoring a header deep into the second half to secure a 1-0 win

Former Manchester United player turned football pundit, Paul Ince predicts a 2-1 victory for Newcastle United against Stoke City in the Premier League.

But Benitez, who returned to the touchline following hernia surgery, is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

Lascelles' goal secured the three points for Newcastle United, as Stoke City failed to score an equalizing goal until the referee blew the full-time whistle.

He adds that St James' Park will be a "tough" place to visit, and the atmosphere will be electrifying.

Asked how he felt when he looked at the table, he replied: "I haven't seen the table and I don't want to see the table, believe me".

The confidence in the team is high as the home side are heading into this match on the back of two successive league wins against West Ham United and Swansea City.

Later, Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen granted bail to the accused Smriti Kalra after she was produced before the court. The complaint said Kalra held the constable by the collar, slapped him and hurled abuses at him.

Jamaal Lascelles was the hero once again for the Magpies by scoring the victor 68 minutes in after goals from Christian Atsu and Xherdan Shaqiri had the game on a knife's edge.

"We're doing okay after a tough period of fixtures".

Apparently, everyone gives their absolute best as they compete for playing minutes, with Benitez a rewarder of hard work as opposed to having favourites.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes was disappointed not to come away with anything as his side lost for the first time since the opening day of the campaign, but urged his players to learn the lessons of their reverse on Tyneside.

"But in the end, it wasn't to be".
