The subedar leading the party told police that the woman overtook them near Rajokri flyover and started driving in a zigzag fashion in front of the Army truck.

According to him, the woman had suddenly stopped her TATA Indica vehicle, walked up and started hitting him.The soldier did not resist and just kept asking her the reason. Later, Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen granted bail to the accused Smriti Kalra after she was produced before the court.

Subsequently, the driver stopped the truck. Her vehicle has been seized by the police.For assaulting an unresisting soldier, the woman was skewered on social media.The soldier was quoted in some media reports as saying she "suddenly" stopped the auto, walked up and starting hitting him. The complaint said Kalra held the constable by the collar, slapped him and hurled abuses at him.

She blamed him for being an Army personnel.

On September 9, a woman was caught slapping an Army Jawan on the streets of Delhi. Kalra, who lives in Gurgaon, has been charged with "causing hurt to deter a public servant". She now lives with her parents in Gurgaon.

In the police complaint, an Army subedar said he was going in a military truck to drop off five colleagues at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station when the woman, driving an Indica auto overtook them near the Rajokri flyover. This made her lose her temper, the cops explained.
