McIlroy won the Tour Championship a year ago to scoop the lucrative FedEx Cup bonus, but world number two Jordan Spieth leads the rankings. So, hopefully I can keep doing what I'm doing.

Jason Day fired a hole-in-one during the second round of the BMW Championship.

"My last hole-in-one was at Turning Stone (Resort Championship) in 2008, so I've had a bit of a dry spell", Day said after his round.

Day's round was highlighted by his hole in one at the par three 13th which followed yet another eagle at the par five 14th which came after he holed form just off the green.

"The Alfred Dunhill Links is a great, late season event and I really enjoy the format". Last time I was here I was five shots better (after 36 holes).

Lacking the magic he enjoyed over opening rounds of 62 and 64, the 33-year-old Leishman is fighting to maintain his cushion at the top with three birdies and two bogeys on moving day.

Walker says he would support moving up elimination of the state prevailing wage to January 1 or even sooner. Scott Walker, still in South Korea Friday on a trade mission, said he was trying to broker a deal.

It's certainly been a lean year for Day, one that started with him as the world's top-ranked golfer and saw him show up to this week's event without a spot in the Tour Championship assured. The top points earner after next week's Tour Championship will receive a $10 million bonus awarded to the season-long FedExCup champion. Leishman still clinging to that 2-shot lead at 17 under.

The popular Northern Ireland golfer, now world No 6, will be looking for his first victory in the prestigious European Tour event, having finished runner-up in 2009, 2011 and 2014.

Rory McIlroy hopes to complete his golfing year on a "real high" with victory in next month's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews.

Marc Leishman left his clubs in the garage during his week break from the FedEx Cup playoffs and it didn't make a difference.

The 28-year-old Northern Irishman captured the FedEx Cup title last year - and its $10 million bonus jackpot - but is now projected to finish 60th unless he makes a big move over the final two round, estimating he needed "a couple of 65s" to make any impact. "It isn't quite coming to together, it's about being patient".

McIlroy made five birdies, but carded a double bogey at the sixth and dropped another shot at the 13th.
