TCU Horned Frogs at Arkansas Razorbacks Start Time, College Football Odds

Razorback Fans React to First Loss of the Season

The Horned Frogs took the early lead after Sewo Olonilua punched in a one-yard score.

He missed his first kick Saturday, the 23-yarder, from the left hash, reminiscent of the attempt he failed to convert at TCU a year ago and one that nearly cost the Razorbacks when the Horned Frogs rallied. TCU punter Adam Nunez and Arkansas punter Blake Johnson were underwhelming in their first outings, but again, the way their offenses were scoring, they weren't needed much. As a team, Arkansas used multiple ball carriers to pick up 236 rushing yards on 45 carries (5.2 ypc) and also scored four times on the ground.

All in all, it was a grinding Southeastern Conference-like win for TCU - which served notice to its Big 12 Conference counterparts in the process.

Patterson, who has 150 victories in 16-plus seasons at TCU, said the Horned Frogs view the Saturday game as an important one for national recognition.

The 23-yarder Saturday would've given Arkansas a 10-7 lead on the first play of the second quarter. Morgan, the brother of former Arkansas receiver Drew Morgan, is listed as the Hogs' No. 2 middle linebacker going into the TCU game. The Hogs forced two turnovers, the first of which was an interception by Junior Santos Ramirez in the first quarter.

That will be hard, Rhoads and Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos said, because while not overly big, the Horned Frogs defensively are as quick and fast as they come and motor offensively with receivers and scatbacks. Safety Ray Issahaku had a sack, and defensive tackle Corey Bethley wrapped up Austin Allen on the last Arkansas snap.

While TCU brings in a unsafe passing attack with Hill at quarterback and a stable of talented receivers - 14 TCU players caught passes in the victory over Jackson State - Bielema's blueprint at Arkansas, and before that at Wisconsin, has been to control the ball with a powerful running game anchored by a big offensive line.

How serious was the Mexican earthquake?
Many people sustained injuries in the 7.3 quake that hit the country just hours after the one in Mexico . A three-foot tsunami was confirmed in Mexico but officials warned of waves as tall as 10 feet.

"I told the guys after the game we gotta quit talking about it", Ragnow said. "I think today we really took the potential part and made it into something we could actually do".

Bret Bielema has a lofty goal between now and the next time the Arkansas Razorbacks take the field. "... We've got to be the most-improved team in the country and get a lot better at the details".

Arkansas has now lost three of its last four games to fall to 26-27 under the fifth-year coach Bielema. The Hogs defeated the ex-Southwest Conference rival in overtime last season. Allen led the Razorbacks to the tying score in the final two minutes of regulation, going 4-for-4 with a touchdown pass and then catching the tying 2-point conversion with 1:03 remaining. Bielema performed the vocals to Cash's "I Walk the Line" while Patterson played the guitar.

In one of the crazier games of last season, Arkansas tipped TCU in double overtime 41-38, winning outright as a 10-point underdog.

TCU (1-0) moved into the AP Top 25 after a 63-0 season-opening victory over Jackson State.

ARKANSAS: The Razorbacks have their lone off week of the season next week before returning against Texas A&M in AT&T Stadium on September 23.
