Florida braces for the destructive wrath of Hurricane Irma

Tropical Storm Jose Becomes the 10th Named Storm of the Hurricane Season

Florida Governor Rick Scott declared a state of emergency on Tuesday and ordered evacuations, telling residents to "not sit and wait for the storm to come" because "it is extremely unsafe and deadly and will cause devastation".

Here's the basic policy as listed on Disney's site: "If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area - or for your place of residence - within seven days of your scheduled arrival date, you may call in advance to reschedule or cancel".

The National Hurricane Center will likely incorporate this change in the European model into their 5 p.m. update, which may shift the path farther to the west.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that the hurricane - which sustained winds of up to 185 miles per hour - also killed a person on the island of Barbuda, which was "totally demolished" by the storm.

Parts of South Florida have already been placed under a hurricane watch.

"We are expecting to get the full force of the hurricane in around five hours' time, when we will retreat to a concrete wine cellar under the Great House", Branson said.

Irma was declared a hurricane earlier this week.

A new season, but Ohio State still haunts Sooners
Add Mike Weber , last year's starter, into the mix at running back this week and the offense could be that much more lethal. OU's revamped backfield hasn't proven itself yet, and the Buckeyes rolled up 291 yards rushing in Norman a year ago.

According to reports, Three deaths have been reported and there are fears of more fatalities and the communication has been disrupted totally after winds snapped a cell tower in two on the island and the Barbuda residents are living under harsh conditions with no water supply and electricity. Saba and St. Eustatius are also under a Tropical Storm Watch.

A storm surge of up to 3.6m (12 feet) is predicted and there are concerns up to 25 cranes across Miami could collapse amid violent winds.

Already, Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne says nearly every building on Barbuda was damaged when the hurricane's core crossed almost directly over the island early Wednesday and about 60 percent of the island's roughly 1,400 people are homeless.

Antigua and Barbuda are under watches and bracing for the storm. Hurricane Katia is spinning in the Gulf off of southeastern Mexico, while Hurricane Jose is brewing in the Atlantic Ocean.

It's the first time since 2010 that three active hurricanes have been in the Atlantic, according to CNN Weather. September 10 represents the statistical peak of hurricane season.
