Wayne Rooney Caught Driving whilst drunk, charged to court

Wayne Rooney reportedly arrested on suspicion of drink-driving

A auto goes through the gates of the home of former England captain Wayne Rooney in Prestbury, Cheshire after he was charged with drink driving, Cheshire Police said.

The 31-year-old Everton striker was stopped by police in Cheshire last night night.

Rooney, who recently announced his retirement from worldwide football, had been training earlier in the day with Everton.

Rooney, naturally, saw no reason to move home when he completed his transfer from Manchester United to Everton, and has enjoyed a fine start to the season at his boyhood club.

'Wayne Rooney, aged 31, of Prestbury, has since been charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

But Koeman, who it is understood used the worldwide break to play golf on Friday, will be less than amused given the potential seriousness of Rooney's situation.

Rooney is not the first worldwide footballer to be stopped on suspicion of drink driving.
