Sony Picks Up THE CROW Reboot

Tracking-Board has recently revealed that the more faithful retelling of the original The Crow graphic novel is going to be distributed by Sony Pictures alongside Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow.

Remember the giant clusterf*ck that was The Crow reboot over at Relativity?

The new Crow movie, which spent nearly a decade in development at Relativity, has landed at Sony Pictures, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The remake was in the works over at Relativity Media for almost a decade, but production on the film was suspended after the company went bankrupt. Directed by Alex Proyas, the original "The Crow" grossed $50.7 million at the domestic box office. When the company went under, the project went into limbo. According to Deadline, however, a fresh reboot of the film series is in the works, with Sony picking up the rights to distribute the film. He dropped out of the lead role in August of that year, followed by Fresnadillo in October 2011. Kevin Misher will also be producing for Misher Films.

This did not end the franchise, which received a sequel called The Crow: City of Angels two years later. His character Aquaman was already teased in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and will return in the upcoming "Justice League" before embarking on his own adventure in a 2018 solo movie. Hardy is directing New Line's Conjuring Universe spinoff "The Nun".
