In a shocking incident, 30 children, many of them newborns, have died in the last 48 hours at Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur city.

"We have ordered an inquiry under the chairmanship of chief secretary and the BRD medical college principal has been suspended for negligence", Ashutosh Tandon, medical and education minister said.

Rajeev Rautela the district magistrate, Uttar Pradesh said in the press conference that this event occurred Thursday noon. He claims that only seven deaths have been reported and those were due to some other medical reasons.

Prashant Trivedi, the state's top health official, acknowledged that there was a problem in the pipeline supplying oxygen.

A six-member SP team, led by the Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Ram Govind Chaudhary, has been asked to submit its report to the party chief by August 13.

The opposition has cornered the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) government in the state demanding resignation from of Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath and Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh on the moral grounds following the tragedy that has exposed the apathy of the failed medical system.

The hospital, which has become a major centre for children with encephalitis, has treated almost 370 cases in the last two months.

Earlier in the day, the alleged disruption in the supply of liquid oxygen at the hospital claimed lives of three more children. Reason behind most of the death cases was due to Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES).

Two days back, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had visited the hospital that falls under his Lok Sabha constituency.

This could be the end for snapchat after announcing huge losses
We get used to things like Snapchat and, once they've been on our phones and in our lives for a while, we take them for granted. But to gain additional revenue from users, he said, Snapchat would have to beef up its content and rapidly improve its product.

The Congress leader further informed that as payments were not given on time to the suppliers, they could not provide liquid oxygen.

In the letter it was clearly mentioned that the hospital had only limited stock available, which was sufficient to serve the requirement till August 10.

According to media reports, about 3000 children had expired since 2012.

Rautela said,"The BRD principal told us that out of an outstanding of Rs 70 lakh, Rs 35 lakh was paid to the Lucknow-based firm".

The hospital is the largest in the entire Gorakhpur region, and hundreds of patients from nearby towns and villages flock to it for treatment.

Sixty children died between August 7 and 11 in BRD Hospital, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

"The government is responsible for the deaths of these children", he said.

Meanwhile, Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi has termed the deaths of 30 children as "massacre".
