Bolt fails to finish as GB stun in relay

Preview: Usain Bolt, the superstar who made athletics fun and watchable for the past decade returns to the track for the final time Saturday to run on Jamaica's 4x100-meter relay team.

Bolt broke down on the anchor leg for the Jamaican team.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist finished third in a photo finish to runner-up Christian Coleman, and Gatlin on August 5 at London Stadium, site of the 2012 Olympic Games.

The Justin Gatlin-led USA team took silver, 0.05secs behind, while Japan claimed a surprise bronze (38.04). Gatlin came from behind to finish in 9.92 seconds with team US sprinter Christian Coleman in second place at 9.94 seconds and Bolt was third with 9.95 seconds.

“Everybody wanted him (Bolt) to end his career as a victor.

The woman who beat Felix at last year's Olympics, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, was far in the lead this time but inexplicably lost it when she looked at the big screen and lost her balance. It was Gatlin's first 100-meter world championship title since 2005 and Bolt's first loss in a 100 final in more than four years, when he was defeated by Gatlin in June 2013 in a race in Rome, Italy.

Get ready for Usain Bolt for one last time as the champion will be in action in the 4 x 400 m relay on Saturday.

The Jamaican bowed from his 100-metre career during the week falling to shock third place behind Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman.

The women's 4x100m final is at 9:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m.).

Running several alternates on their team, the United States finished in 2 minutes, 59.23 seconds, .12 seconds ahead of Trinidad and Tobago.

No one is flawless, it is argued, and although Gatlin has received two suspensions for failed drugs tests, people point to the circumstances around his first ban, and giving him another chance after his second.

Gatlin also won gold for the 100m in the 2005 World Championships.

Bolt's presence ensured a capacity crowd for the morning session. Bolt routinely slowed down before crossing the finish line. I get so much support from the crowd.

"There are no words to describe how I am feeling". They said if you come back we should accept that. He wants to run in the final and has been taking part in relay training here. "Yohan Blake is coming in for the final is definitely good".

However Britain flew out of the blocks and their ideal changeovers gave them a great chance going into the final 100m as they led both the U.S. and Jamaica.

It's not the most intimidating Jamaican quartet - it does not have the aura of the teams that have won the event at every major championship since 2008 - the team that has beaten its nearest rival by an average of.20 seconds since 2009.

I was 16 when Bolt first won a medal at the worlds in 2007.

The Netherlands, with 200-metre champion Dafne Schippers running the second leg, qualified on time.

Elliott set to appeal six-game National Football League ban
The suspension comes after a year-long investigation after Elliott was accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend. In most gambling establishments, the Cowboys had been the odds-on favorite to come out of the NFC.
