Officials in South Carolina this week released dramatic glasses cam video from a January 1, 2016 shooting of an Estill, South Carolina police officer.

Orr was convicted of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, reported the Charlotte Observer.

Smith was responding to a call about a suspicious person after Charles Party Shop informed police a man was snatching groceries from people's hands, reported the State.

According to NBC News, the encounter was taped on a camera in the officer's glasses that he bought on Amazon and was released Thursday, the same day the suspect was sentenced to prison. "Come here! You better stop - if you don't", Smith repeats, while moving toward Orr.

Malcolm Antwan Orr, 29 was caught on an officer's eyeglass camera refusing to obey orders before whipping out a gun and firing.

DA to bring motion to dissolve Parly
The Democratic Alliance statement came a day after President Jacob Zuma celebrated the failure of another no-confidence motion. Some 198 MPs voted against a motion of no confidence in him, 177 MPs voted in favour of the motion and 9 MPs abstained.

Smith's voice can be heard in the recording as he lay outside his patrol auto, He told the emergency dispatcher, "Tell my family that I love them". At least two of the eight rounds were fired while Smith was lying on the ground and another two were fired as Smith ran for cover, back to his parked patrol auto. "He was just walking away, but unfortunately I made a mistake ... and he got the upper hand", the officer said. Smith said he prays for Orr and his family.

Once back inside his patrol auto Smith begged for backup, blood-covered hands fumbling with the radio controls as he tried to alert his dispatcher.

Smith sounds as if he is about to pass out, telling the dispatcher that he was hit in the neck and had two broken arms. "I'm not playing with you!" Paramedics arrived on scene shortly afterwards and were able to save the officer's life despite the serious nature of his wounds. "I'm still trying to heal up injuries to my arm", Smith said.

However, Smith suddenly noticed the man put his hand in the pocket that suggested that he was carrying a weapon. A paramedic removes Smith's glasses and moves them aside as Thompkins speaks with another officer as they develop a plan to pursue Orr.

According to WJCL, Smith is still on medical leave, but he hopes to return to active duty with the Estill Police Department in 2018.
