Did we humans contribute to the Texas heat wave? It's complicated

Smoke raising from factory stack

All three networks on Tuesday anxious about Donald Trump's "lack of curiosity" in the wake of a "startling" new climate change report. A note coming out of the leaked report, is that it does not make any political recommendations and stays on facts, figures and real-life climate change examples.

"There are no alternative explanations" to human industrial activity being the cause, it adds, and "no natural cycles are found in the observational record that can explain the observed changes in climate". But those who challenge scientific data on human-caused climate change say they are equally anxious that the draft report, as well as the larger National Climate Assessment, will be publicly released.

"Evidence for a changing climate abounds, from the top of the atmosphere to the depths of the oceans", the draft stated. Extreme cold waves, it says, are less common since the 1980s, while extreme heat waves are more common.

Scientists from more than a dozen federal agencies fear the damning document, which was obtained by the New York Times, will never see the light of day.

Even if humans were to immediately cease emitting all greenhouse gases into the air today, global temperatures would still rise by 05 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century.

Sea levels are rising. It projects a near-term rise of temperature in the U.S. by 2.5 degrees F (1.4 degrees C).

The Times reported that according to the draft, the United States' average temperature has been rising drastically since 1980, and the recent decades have marked the warmest temperatures recorded in the past 1,500 years.

Haruo Nakajima, Man Inside Godzilla Suit, Dies at 88
While the gig paid well, Nakajima said he didn't initially get the respect he deserved donning the 100 kilogram Godzilla suit. In the interview , the actor opens up about his research for the role and how the Godzilla costume weighed as much as 100kg.

So I might be going out on a limb here, but I'd say it's safe to conclude the Trump administration hasn't suppressed a publicly available report on climate change.

Flanagan said while some of the science in the report can be applied in Canada, this country has some unique differences, particular the vast north where there is a higher rate of warming.

During an interview on NBC's "Today," Haley was asked whether she thinks the Trump administration would embrace the report given that it just withdrew the US from the Paris climate agreement. We are living, right now, contending with more and increasingly brutal climate events - floods, droughts, heat waves and hurricanes - mostly of our own man-made doing.

Depending on future carbon emission levels, average annual temperatures in the USA could increase by 2.8 to 4.8 degrees Celsius (5.0 to 8.6 degrees Fahrenheit) before the end of the century.

President Donald Trump has promised to bring back coal mining jobs, extend oil pipelines, and reduce government subsidies for clean energy initiatives and now U.S. scientists are fighting back.

But the report is just as significant for the fact that despite being compiled by scientists from across the U.S. government, it had to be leaked for fear that it could be stifled by the White House.

As for the Paris Climate Accord, 196 different countries agreed to adopt green energy sources, cut down on emissions and limit the spike in global temperatures.
