Minnesota governor: Mosque blast an 'act of terrorism'

Governor Dayton and State Rep. Ilhan Omar at Dar Al Farooq Islamic Center

"An attack on a mosque is an attack on a synagogue is an attack on a church", said Curtiss Deyoung, CEO of the Minnesota Council of Churches.

U.S. authorities said on Sunday the Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking suspects after an explosive device tore through part of a mosque in the northern USA state of Minnesota as people were preparing for morning prayers.

"Sincerely, America", one user said in a tweet. Its leaders say they're more frightened now after an explosive shattered windows and damaged a room as worshippers prepared for morning prayers.

Minnesota state Governor Mark Dayton called the bombing a "criminal act of terrorism" while visiting the site on Sunday.

"We are wondering why President Trump has not tweeted about this", Asad Zaman, the executive director of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, told BuzzFeed.

The president's lack of comment has left some in the Muslim community with questions.

The FBI is the lead investigative agency and said it is working on determining who set off the explosive and why.

No one was hurt in the blast, which happened around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Reports indicate , however, that SoftBank may do business at a lower valuation, and involve secondary share sales. Sprint's mounting debt maturities put further pressure on Son to find a partner for the company.

Also Monday, FBI Special Agent in Charge Rick Thornton reassured the community his agency was thoroughly investigating the attack. There is a $24,000 reward that's being offered by several local Islamic organizations.

Omar said the center has received threatening or hateful phone calls and emails in the past.

Since the beginning of the year, CAIR has reportedly called for investigations of what they call "possible bias motives" for dozens of other incidents targeting mosques in Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky, Georgia, Arizona, Tennessee, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Texas, and a number of other states.

No one was hurt in the mosque blast in northern USA state of Minnesota at the weekend, but anxiety is accumulating in fear of more hate crimes against Muslims may occur across the country. "I hope and pray the perpetrator will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law", Mr Dayton said at a news conference outside the mosque, located in Bloomington, Minnesota.

"What a bad, dastardly, cowardly act was committed", he said.

The executive director of a Minnesota mosque that was bombed over the weekend says the building doesn't have outside security cameras.

Trump National Security Advisor Sebastian Gorka suggested the president was exercising caution before condemning the attack because of the possibility it was "false", Thinkprogress reports.
