Calvert-Lewin fires Everton into UEL play-off round

Wayne Rooney took time out to stop and sign autographs for some young Everton fans

However, boss Ronald Koeman has confirmed that the England Under-21 global, who arrived from Sunderland for £30m this summer, will be in goal.

If Dominic Calvert-Lewin has reason to pinch himself at how his summer has progressed, then Ronald Koeman followed the forward's latest match-winning intervention by delivering a brutal dose of reality.

Calvert-Lewin starred in that game as the England Under-20 global scored the victor, booking Everton's place in the Europa League playoff round.

They laboured to a pair of 1-0 wins over Slovakian minnows Ruzomberok to set up the clash with Split.

And Koeman has suggested that he is counting on Calvert-Lewin coming good over the campaign ahead.

According to her husband, she was hiking with her daughter and niece when she chose to look for water and help. The two girls that she left in a safe location were later found by other people.

He said: "We need two more front players because if you count the players and count the numbers, we lost somebody and we brought somebody in". "He got more space".

Calvert-Lewin's goal sealed England's 1-0 win over Venezuela that sealed their Under-20 World Cup triumph in June, and now Koeman has hailed the 20-year-old's showing in Europa League qualifying.

"He is one of our young players". It's all about training and performances.

"We like more competition and that explanation is not so hard".

Calvert-Lewin was given plenty of chances at Everton last term, but he has not been particularly prolific to date.
