Born Abu Dujana, A Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorist, Killed By Forces

Top Lashkar terrorist Abu Dujana killed

Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Aug. 01: The encounter between security forces and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists has ended at Hakripora village in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, but heavy stone pelting by locals on security forces has started.

As the joint team was zeroing in on the target house, the militants opened fire which was retaliated, triggering off a gunfight, the official said.

Dujana, alias Hafiz, was the LeT's so-called "divisional commander", and reportedly hailed from northern Pakistan. The security forces also killed Arif Lilhaari another top Lashkar terrorist.

Trump pleads with Senate: Don't let the American people down
When he says it split us, I think he means it split us - not as a party, not Republicans - it split us as a country. The two senators along with Maine's Susan Collins joined Democrats in defeating the bill.

The forces had acted on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the village.

Soon after the word about Dujana's killing spread, the irate youth took to the streets in many parts of the Valley including Pulwama and Srinagar and soon clashed with the security forces. In a series of setbacks for militants particularly for LeT in last three months at least three of its commanders were killed, including Junaid Mattoo, Bashir Lashkari and Abu Dujana. Dujana and his other LeT associates had remained holed up inside a house in Hakripora, when a team of policemen and army personnel cordoned off the area where Dujana was killed early Tuesday morning. "Huge achievement for police and SF", tweeted the J&K police. Jammu and Kashmir and central armed police forces too worked in close coordination to keep the pressure.

Attacks like these had made Dujana one of the most feared non-local militant commanders in the Valley, and among the people, he had acquired a cult status. "There has been one civilian casualty", he said. In recent days, this kind of operation is being carried out in Kashmir after years of growing incidents of terror infiltrating. Till the end of July as many as 35 Army men were killed in the gunbattle with the militants. Dujana had escaped from the encounter site. Also, the rail services have been suspended "as a precautionary measure". He was also involved in hurling hand grenade upon security forces at Pahoo Awantipora. Dujana according to police sources, was also part of the group that planned two attacks at EDI building in Pampore, in which army suffered heavy casualty past year.
