Paul di Resta replaces unwell Massa for Hungarian Grand Prix

After feeling unwell Felipe Massa has been given the all-clear for today's final practise session ahead of further checks

Williams reserve driver Paul di Resta has been drafted in to replace Felipe Massa as the Brazilian continues to battle a sudden bout of illness.

"I'm sure he's probably fairly nervous", said Williams of di Resta, who last raced in F1 with Force India in 2013. He was then taken to the MH EK Honvédkórház hospital to complete precautionary checks, but was cleared to compete in FP3 by the FIA's medical delegate ahead of the Saturday morning session.

However, he continued to feel unwell during the session, and after posting only 12 laps during the session, decided with the team to withdraw from driving, with "a view to return to the race-track for the Belgian Grand Prix".

Daniil Kvyat is now just two penalty points away from a Formula 1 race ban after being sanctioned by the stewards for blocking Lance Stroll during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Earlier in the day Di Resta had expressed his excitement and nervousness while working as a co-commentator on Sky Sports F1.

"Diving straight in, I am not going to lie I was scared, nervous, anxious...", he told Sky F1, with whom he would have been commentating for had he not been in the auto.

Chelsea lose to Inter Milan in last preseason friendly
Inter had the first chance of the game early on but Thibaut Courtois made a save before Gary Cahill blocked a follow-up effort. Two years ago the team ended the league in 10th place and we want to try to avoid this.

Prior to qualifying, Williams team boss Claire Williams explained Massa's situation and why the change had been made so late on in the weekend.

Speaking on Sky F1 at the start of Practice Three, Di Resta said: "I'm ready to pounce if he needs a stand in".

Di Resta had not driven the Williams F1 vehicle on track before and had very little time to prepare. Felipe, as you all know, fell unwell at the end of FP2 yesterday.

"These cars are top of their game and it is like being back at home driving the best balanced vehicle you have ever driven".

This weekend's race at the Hungaroring will be the first since the 1982 San Marino Grand Prix not to feature a Brazilian driver.

"My feeling with the auto is quite good and now all I can hope for is a different type of race, an eventful one, otherwise it will be hard to overtake here".
