A lawyer appointed to defend a California teen who livestreamed a auto crash on Instagram that killed her younger sister said the 18-year-old is "broken apart" over the death.

Obdulia Sanchez has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and gross vehicular manslaughter in connection with the crash.

The Stockton teenager made her first appearance in Merced County Superior Court in Los Banos on Wednesday via video monitor from the John Latorraca Correctional Facility, just outside Merced, where she's been in custody since the deadly crash.

Obdulia Sanchez was driving home after picking up Seja to spend time with her sister when the livestream video and the auto crash occurred.

The passengers were both 14 years old and were not wearing seat belts; one was killed and the other suffered a major injury, the highway patrol said.

Obdulia Sanchez talked both to the livestream video viewers and her dying sister after the auto crash. I understand that. This is the last thing I wanted to happen- okay. May Hernandez, who knows Sanchez through friends, tells Buzzfeed she heard about the video, and recorded it before it disappeared after 24 hours. "I'm f****** sorry, baby, I did not mean to kill you sweetie".

Manuela Seja, the teen who was with Obdulia and Jacqueline, has also spoken out, telling local media outlets that she doesn't "blame anybody" for the crash. At the time, she was 14 and driving without a license.

The grieving little sister said Obdulia Sanchez told relatives she wished that she, and not Jacqueline, had died in the crash. They watched the live stream video of the crash and aftermath, and they have no explanation for how it happened.

As Venezuelans Strike, US Announces Sanctions Against Maduro
The opposition has planned another major demonstration in Caracas on Friday. "The government of the world?" he said in a speech. The airline operates two direct flights to Venezuela: One from Bogota, Colombia, and the other from Lima, Peru.

"She was fearless and she was smart", Manuela said of Jacqueline. "I f-- killed my sister". It's all affected by social media.

"Anybody can say very easily that she is responsible for the death". It was not immediately clear if Sanchez had an attorney.

Samrao says her life should be judged on what she's overcome, not by one moment that forever changed her life.

Nutt went on to say that Sanchez alcohol content when the accident occurred was.10.

ABC30 reports Mary Hernandez of Stockton recorded the Instagram story before it disappeared in the 24-hour window.

A mother and father in California are reeling from the worst kind of tragedy imaginable right now: a vehicle accident that left one of their teenage daughters dead and the other in jail on suspicion of drunk driving and manslaughter.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help the family pay for Jacqueline's funeral expenses.

"Jacqueline, please wake up", Sanchez said in the video. Manuela did not want to talk about that horrific accident or her girlfriend's sister, who is now sitting in the Merced County Jail. "She was just amusing".
