Malayalam actress molestation case: Actor Dileep denied bail by Kerala High Court

Kerala High Court to decide on actor Dileep's bail today

Now a young Malayalam actress is reportedly under police scanner for her close relationship with actor Dileep who was arrested on July 10 with irrefutable evidence that proves his involvement in the conspiracy against the abducted actress. The prosecution also referred to an ongoing pro-Dileep social media campaign to secure his release. The Kerala Police's claim, of having enough evidence against Dileep in the alleged conspiracy to attack the actress, seems to have been validated.

Hearing the appeal made by the actor's lawyer after he was earlier denied bail by the trial court, a single bench of Kerala HC quashed his appeal and asked for the authorities to carry on with the investigations. Dileep's counsel had also asked why the actress didn't say any word about his alleged involvement in the crime.

There are reports that an advance amount of Rs. 10000 was given to Pulsar Suni, the main accused. The second option is he can wait some more time and return to the high court again for bail. He argued that his client had been questioned for a total of 23 hours by the police, and that he was not required any more for the objective of the investigation.

Grab raises $2 billion from SoftBank and Didi Chuxing
Today, the company claims that its app has been downloaded onto over 50 million smartphones and used by 1.1 million drivers. Grab has also been taking other cues from Didi's home market, including working to build a broader mobile payment system.

The police had targetted Dileep when he lodged a complaint that there is some conspiracy to destroy his image and to end his film industry life, states the bail plea.

Producers of three Malayalam films with Dileep playing the lead role, which are in different stages of production, will have to bear their losses. As the investigations continue, there are chances of further twists and turns being revealed. On Monday, 24 July, Thomas' vehicle came under attack. The mobile phone and the original memory card which was used to record incident is yet to be seized, and if Dileep is granted bail now, this endeavour will be harder as he may erase any more evidence.

What is clear, is that Dileep will not emerge from this scandal unscathed.
