Tim Hague, UFC fighter turned boxer, dies at 33

Alberta MMA fighter and boxer Tim Hague

Former UFC heavyweight Tim Hague is reportedly brain dead after suffering a knockout loss in a boxing bout in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Friday night.

Hague's family released a statement regarding his passing on Sunday afternoon.

"It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today", Hague's sister, Jackie Neil, wrote on her Facebook page.

The fighter had been in critical condition in a Canadian hospital after his knockout loss to Adam Braidwood at Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton.

Neil said in her statement that Hague's immediate family is now with him, and that they are asking for prayers and privacy at this terrible and hard time.

"He was surrounded by family, listening to his favorite songs".

Trump administration narrows civil rights investigations
Under the Obama administration, the department's office for civil rights applied an expansive approach to investigations. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) said in a statement.

The tragedy has happened only a months before Conor McGregor swaps UFC for boxing when he fights Floyd Mayweather. "We are all with him".

A video on YouTube that purports to be of the fight shows Hague lying still on his back on the canvas after taking a punch to his head from Braidwood. "It's all still surreal right now", the family said. He was then immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and required emergency surgery to relieve pressure from a brain bleed. On Sunday, Hague was taken off life support and pronounced dead at an Edmonton, Alberta hospital. In 2016 he made the move to boxing.

But it was backstage in the dressing room where Hague's main issues began, as the fighter soon began to fall desperately ill in the aftermath of the event.

Braidwood is now ranked first in heavyweight boxing in western Canada and is ranked ninth overall with KO boxing.

His last fight in boxing resulted in a knockout in December.
