DiCaprio says he's cooperating with DOJ in Malaysian scandal

Leonardo Di Caprio attends'Before The Flood special screening in Miami Beach Florida

Friday, at a press conference in London, the Bruno Manser Funds offered the actor/activist this ultimatum: Renounce his connections to the "politically exposed persons" at the center of the multi-billion dollar 1MDB Malaysian corruption scandal now being investigated by the US Justice Department and return corrupt money he received or resign from the position he was given by United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-moon in Y 2014.

The Hollywood Reporter said Friday that a rainforest charity, the Bruno Manser Fund, has "offered DiCaprio an ultimatum" and asked that he give up his title as a UN Messenger of Peace for Climate Change, which he has been since 2014.

Aziz is chairman and co-founder of Red Granite Pictures, which co-produced the film and Aziz is credited as a producer.

At the press conference, Straumann and others pointed out the "direct link" between the corruption scandal and the environmental issues affecting Malaysia.

The Bruno Manser Fund says DiCaprio's failure to "distance himself" from the Malaysian corruption case are reason enough for him to resign as U.N. Messenger of Peace for climate change.

The 1MDB scandal is an ongoing probe into the alleged misappropriation of billions of dollars through a fund called 1Malaysia Development Berhad.

IBM posts smallest drop in quarterly revenue in over four years
For example, IBM's global business services revenue was merely $4.2 billion, and indeed, was down 2 percent in constant currency. While monitoring stock technicals is important, most investors are more concerned with where the stock might be going now.

Another player is Jho Low, a Malaysian businessman, a person of interest by the DOJ and Malaysian authorities. The Malaysian PM, Razak's stepson, Riza Aziz is listed as a producer on the movie - which was about unrestrained greed of a group of unscrupulous bankers.

And oh yeah. DiCaprio was snapped at the premiere of his new film Before the Flood, a documentary about climate change that will premiere on the National Geographic Channel on October 30.

The exposé also alleged that figures connected to the embezzlement scheme donated artwork that was later auctioned off by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation at its glitzy annual gala in St. Tropez, France.

"We can't save the environment if we fail to stop corruption", the organization said.

"Time is short, Earth desperately needs our help, ' said the actor who was applauded enthusiastically by hundreds of people gathered at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, for the screening of the documentary" 'Before the Flood, ' 'this is why we are here tonight, and that is why I made this film, ' the actor added.

BMF said it was estimated that DiCaprio alone was paid US$25 million for his role as Jordan Belfort in the film, a role that earned him the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
