A Transgender Rights Ad Will Debut During The GOP Convention

Placing the ad exclusively on Fox News the evening when the GOP nominee gives their acceptance will force the network's conservative viewers to confront the real life challenges the transgender community faces. A male employee at the restaurant, however, stops her from going into the women's restroom.

Mushovic said the ad is a dramatized version of what many transgender people experience and features a transgender woman from North Carolina in the primary role.

Alaina Kupec, a transgender woman from North Carolina, stars in the minute-long ad that depicts a scenario-that is now legal in 32 states-where she is stopped from using the women's bathroom while out dining at a restaurant.

According to the groups who produced the ad, it will run once again on MSNBC during the Democratic national convention the following week.

The television commercial is funded by the Freedom for All Americans Education Fund, Movement Advancement Project, and National Center for Transgender Equality, among others.

U.K. candidate Leadsom drops out of PM race, leaving only May
The country voted to leave the European Union and as prime minister, I will make sure we leave the European Union", she said . Former mayor of London candidate Zac Goldsmith tweeted his support for the "dignified exit" made by Andrea Leadsom .

North Carolina has been at the center of this controversy after Gov.

It's paid for by four LGBTQ groups that have formed FairnessUSA.org, a campaign to support gender equality. "So what we've found is people have these misconceptions about who transgender people are".

Ineke Mushovic, executive director of the Movement Advancement Project, said the ad buy cost around $270,000 and includes a subsequent airing on Fox Business. A shocking one in ten (12%) transgender people reported being harassed, attacked, or sexually assaulted in a bathroom, and one third avoided drinking or eating so that they did not need to use the restroom. HB2 makes it illegal for transgender people to use restrooms in public buildings that match the gender they live every day, making them susceptible to even higher levels of harassment and violence, according to a Fairness USA news release.

The ad appears to be a direct response to North Carolina's recently enacted bathroom law.
